Welcome to The Starving (Jewelry) Artists Connection ....
We are a community of artisans, designers, crafters, hobbyists, collectors and enthusiasts of all things created by hand!
Aside from providing a platform for all members of this community to promote and exhibit their creative endeavors, we offer a connection to one of the most active, informative and friendly Jewelry Making forums online.... www.starvingjewelryartists.com or www.tsjaforums.com
One of the regular features planned for TSJA Connection will be Design Challenges. We will start with a Jewelry Design challenge every other month. Each challenge will be based on a theme. Most challenges will be open to all techniques, however we may opt to include a few that are focused on specific methods from time to time.
There will be a poll for each challenge for you to choose your favorite design. The favorite design & designer for each challenge will be featured both on the Home Page here and at Starving Jewelry Artists Forum
Anyone may vote and leave comments; you will however need to register if you want to enter a challenge so that you will be able to upload photos. This site is separate from our main site so your registration information is separate also.
We hope you will decide to participate and share your creativity.
OCTOBER COLOR CHALLENGE
Our next "COLOR" challenge is scheduled for October. The theme for the challenge is "October Colors" based on the attached color palette. The palette is a "fall" influenced palette. The challenge is to use a minimum of 3 of the 5 colors, only black and/or white will be accepted as additional colors. If using metal, your metal color may represent one of the palette colors or not. Entries for October's challenge can be entered anytime between October 1st and October 31st. Polls will open on November 1st and close November 5th. Favorites will be announced shortly thereafter. Please post your ideas for themes we may consider using for future challenges in the "Challenge Suggestions" tab
Beads, metals, yarns, enamels, resins. gemstones, leathers, threads, graphics and whatever can be combined to create your special entry using the rich and vibrant colors of October.
September "Indian Summer" Challenge Poll is Open for Voting!

The challenge theme for September is "Indian Summer"
"Indian Summer" may be described as a respite from the impending advance of winter, a string of warm days after the autumnal equinox or maybe after the first frost...in the northern hemisphere it may occur during the months of September, October or November.
The entry criteria for this challenge is that each design must be based on the colors of fall and have an element that is influenced or inspired by native american cultures. It could be a motif, a depiction, a technique, a weave or whatever other cultural inspiration you may have.
Our challenges have been getting more and more popular and a great deal of fun is had by all the participants. Please joins us ...everyone is welcome and don't forget to invite your friends.
The September challenge will commence on September 1st, entries will be accepted through September 30th. Polls will be open October 1st and close October 5th. Results will be announced shortly thereafter.

September's "Indian Summer" Challenge Winner
Congratulations to Marcie Abney aka "labellajoya", creator of September's "Indian Summer" challenge winning entry. Marcie's "Indian Sun" is a beautiful barette done in a style reminiscent of native american beading artists. The design features motifs and colors used by traditional native american beaders and would be a welcome addition to anyone's collection.
Congratulations to all of the participants. All the entries exhibited the diverse talents and creativity of the entrants. Choosing a favorite design was again a difficult task!
Our next challenge is scheduled for October, which is a color challenge. See the details under the "October Color Challenge" tab. If you have a great idea for future challenge themes, let us know.
